O Festival de Cannes revelou sua seleção oficial de 2026 nesta quinta-feira (9). A 79ª edição terá novos filmes de cineastas consagrados, como Pedro Almodóvar, Asghar Farhadi, Ira Sachs, Hirokazu Kore-eda e Ryusuke Hamaguchi, e acontece de 12 a 23 de maio.
Após fazer história com O Agente Secreto no Festival de Cannes 2025, vencedor como Melhor Ator (Wagner Moura) e Melhor Diretor (Kleber Mendonça Filho), o Brasil não disputa a Palma de Ouro, mas marca presença na mostra Un Certain Regard com Elefantes na Névoa, uma coprodução entre Nepal, Alemanha, Brasil, França e Noruega.
