Remake de Jumanji irá homenagear Robin Williams, afirma The Rock

Dwayne Johnson, que usa seu Instagram como portal de notícias, postou uma foto na rede social sobre o remake de Jumanji e deixou mais do que claro a ideia de que é quase impossível pensar no clássico da década de 1990 e não lembrar de Robin Williams como protagonista. The Rock, que participa da produção como ator e produtor, prometeu imortalizar o nome de Wiliams no novo filme.

"Uma coisa importante com que eu quero ser honesto e relembrar é Robin Williams. O amor e respeito que eu tenho por esse homem é ilimitado. Vocês têm a minha palavra, nós vamos honrar o nome dele e o personagem Alan Parrish será para sempre imortalizado no mundo de Jumanji de uma forma sincera e legal. [...] Eu acho que a família dele vai ficar orgulhosa", escreveu The Rock em uma parte da sua longa postagem.

An important thing that I want to be honest and bring up is Robin Williams. The love and respect I have for this man is boundless. You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of "Alan Parrish" will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way. I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud. I also think Robin is somewhere lookin' down and laughing, remembering the first time we met backstage and I (for the first time ever) was a star struck bumbling idiot that couldn't even get my words out. Idiot. He literally calmed me down w/ that smile and laugh. But that's for another fun story down the road. We got a great team assembled already over at our home base of SONY and now we build from here. Here's another fun part... in the original movie there were three big roles. In our new story there's now FIVE. Been so damn cool to see all my actor buddies push their projects aside so hopefully they can come play in our world. Além da homenagem a Robin Williams, o ator também revelou que a nova trama terá cinco papéis de destaque ao invés de três e que a intenção é se basear no livro original de Chris Van Allsburg que deu origem a Jumanji.

Com direção de Jake Kasdan, o remake de Jumanji irá trazer de volta as emoções do extraordinário longa de 1995 sobre um jogo de tabuleiro onde as coisas acabam se tornando realidade. A estreia do filme nos EUA está prevista para o dia 28 de julho de 2017.
